This is a submission for the "TerraSpace" Community Contest here on dA.
Ive always wanted to do one of these but was never really good at it..I had tried several times back a few years ago and failed miserably....I still ended up spending about 7 hours on this and well, I'm satisfied with it enough to upload it. ....kinda.
The name came from thoughts of how long it takes light to travel to us from out there....the things we are seeing today happened millions of years ago...thats just amazing to me. Your in fact, traveling back in time.
Planets, inner stellar dust, stars, star clusters, nebula's, gas jets, auroras, comets....its in there.....Full view for greater details.
All Photoshop...very minimal brush use...177 layers ..36 groups. lol yeah I counted...this had to be my most layered piece to date.
One Stock photo used in this piece and it can be found here at stock exchange for the foreground terrain. [link]
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did re creating my own little piece of the universe.
Its been brought to my attention that maybe its my responsibility to protect my own art here at DA regardless of copyrights and Creative Commons Deeds.

I see u made your space lesson and got it out before me. Even if the background space doesn't have the "deepness" that it deserves it came out pretty good.
I love the gas planet on top. You used a premade texture or made it yourself(liquify tool)?
I've been really busy (learning flash) and had no time for PS.. but i will create my space.. soon
yeah the gasey planet is actually one of my wallpapers blurred and a little liquify. not ad for my frst one but I could sit and pick apart all day long..things I could have done better...great learning experience.
lol...hell It was fun making it...quite a challenge...not my normal style but I really liked it...might make another just a bit more minimalistic. Just do one for the fun bro...specially since you like that style You never know man..mine aint that good..lol I could sit here and pick it to death.
